The Sieger Affair is a work of fiction inspired by experiences and conflicts familiar to the international German Shepherd show world: ambition, loyalty, ownership, breeding, competition and the enormous value that can become attached to an exceptional dog.
What is a Sieger show?
In German Shepherd terminology, “Sieger” refers to a premier winner at a major breed show. These events bring together breeders, owners and handlers whose dogs are evaluated for conformation, movement and breed quality. At the highest level, reputations can be made in a single weekend.
The world behind the novel
The novel uses that competitive environment as the setting for the fictional story of Adler vom Falkenwald, a champion German Shepherd whose success intensifies questions of ownership, trust and divided loyalties.
The characters, kennels, dogs, locations, organizations, chronology, dialogue and circumstances in the novel have been created, altered, combined or fictionalized. No character should be understood as a factual portrayal of a particular person.
